SAT Redesign
You will be amazed to know that the SAT is undergoing its biggest change in 30 years. The College Board stated that “We are trying to make the SAT more relevant to high school curriculum. The SAT redesign version is expected to debut in March of 2016. The SAT changes and new SAT format 2016 will impact on those students who are in the class of 2017. Below I will discuss the impacts of new SAT version and SAT changes in details.
Redesigned SAT more friendly for some students because:
- No penalty will be for wrong answers, so students no more need to worry about losing points for guessing incorrectly.
- In new sat format 2016 there will be only FOUR choices instead of FIVE.
- Students may be more familiar with the vocabulary tested, but they will need to know different definitions of those words.
SAT Changes may become more challenging for some pupils because:
- Questions will require multiple steps to get to an answer.
- Reading passages will include complex structure and vocabulary.
- Foundational skills of math in new sat format will be more important.
- Critical thinking as well as reasoning skills will be compulsory
- There will be fewer sections on the new sat 2016 test, but they will be of long duration than the current SAT
