The Government of Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja Ur Rehman announced Rs. 780 billion budget 2012-13.
- Salaries of Government employees are increased by 20%.
- It was announced that MPAs salaries will be reduced by 5%.
- For energy sectors Govt. of Punjab allocated Rs. 10 billion in the budget 2012-13.
- There will be no new taxes for middle class
- Almost 125,000 laptops will be given no deserving student.
- A sum of Rs. 32.38 billion for the purpose of general administration
- Rs. 81.86 allocated in the Punjab budget 2012-13 for public order & safety.
- To increase the performance of courts a sum of Rs. 1.5 billion set aside.
- For education sector Rs. 31.56 billion set aside
- Rs. 320 million will be spent for the welfare of monitories
- It is decided that Ashyiana Scheme will be started in four different cities for this purpose Rs. 2 billion allocated.
- For Subsidy of wheat Rs. 27.5 billion allocated in the Punjab budget 2012-13.
- It is decided that Rs. 2 billion will be given to eight more Danish Schools.
- Rs. 100 earmarked HR & Labour Department.
- IT sector will get Rs. 2.4 billion.
- Punjab education fund will get Rs. 6.5 billion in the fiscal year 2012-13.
- Transport sector will get Rs. 6.2 billion.
- Sports sectors will get Rs. 1.8 billion.
- Health sector will get Rs. 16.5 billion
- For infrastructure purpose Rs. 1 billion allocated
- Service sector will get Rs. 11.1 billion in this fiscal year 2012.
- For youth Rs. 15 billion set aside
- Rs. 1 billion will be spent for solar panels installation.
