What is Dictatorship or Totalitarianism
Dictatorship also known as totalitarianism is not something new. This form of government was known to Greeks and also to the Romans. The Romans Dictators were appointed by the Roman Senate for some special reason and for a certain period.
Today there is a new kind of dictatorship, which is established by a revolution and remains in power till it is overthrown. Dictatorship is defined as the rule of one man who enjoys absolute power and does not know any limitation. It is the opposite of democracy.
Modern dictatorship and totalitarianism is of three types Communist, Nationalist and Fascist. These dictatorships came into being during and after the 1st World War. In 1917 Communist Dictatorship (more properly proletariat dictatorship) was established in Russia. In 1921 Kamal Ata Turk established the Nationalist Dictatorship in Turkey. In 1922 Massolini established Fascist Dictatorship in Italy. In 1933 Hitler established Nazi dictatorship in Germany. It was the worst kind of dictatorship. Later on Japan also joined Italy and Germany. As a result of this alliance, the 2nd World War started due to which humanity suffered a lot. At the end of 2nd World War the Fascist Dictatorship in Germany, Italy and Japan came in end. Only the Proletariat Dictatorship in Russia continues. Today such dictatorship continues in many socialist countries.
How to Form and Organize of Dictatorship or Totalitarianism
Under this system the country is ruled either by one person or by one party. No opposition is allowed. Everything is controlled by the state. Everything is within the state and nothing is outside or against the state. The people have only one right and that is to perform all their duties. There is the famous saying:
Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.
But the Fascists changed this and said:
Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and also give him what belongs to God.
Under Dictatorship or Totalitarianism form of government religion is subordinate to the state. In other words fascist state is secular. Under Socialist system religion is completely abolished. Under Nationalist dictatorship religion is separated from politics.
